More than a walk — a chance to discover what drives you.
Posted on: 11/03/2026A huge shout-out to our Year 9 Bronze DofE students for their fantastic teamwork and orienteering skills — and to our dedicated Mr Crossan, Mr Grieve, Mrs Martin, Ms Harris, Ms Yoga and Mrs Tagg, without whom experiences like this wouldn’t be possible. Their guidance allows students to explore their potential, support each other, and grow in ways that last beyond the trail.
Over the weekend, our students tackled Box Hill as part of their expedition training. For many, it was their first time navigating in the great outdoors —and they embraced the challenge brilliantly.
As Mr Crossan reflected:
"They worked together brilliantly and were a credit to their year group and the school!"
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is an exceptional opportunity to help students build confidence, resilience, and independence, while discovering what drives them. At Hampton High, the program is run in-house, led by our fully trained DofE coordinator, Mr Crossan, and heavily subsidised so every student can take part.
Sometimes the most powerful learning isn’t just about the destination - it’s about discovering your strengths, testing your limits, and being curious about how far you can go along the way.
