At Hampton High we believe in the value of home learning and the significant positive impact that proper engagement with homework can have on pupil outcomes.
At KS3 homework for all subjects, except for Maths, is set on Seneca Learning. The Maths faculty set homework on a separate online platform called Dr Frost.
At KS4 homework and revision will continue to be set on Seneca and Dr Frost but will also require students to undertake written tasks for exam practice.
Seneca Learning is an interactive platform designed to support students in their learning journey. It offers a wide range of resources tailored to the curriculum and through its use of proven learning techniques, the platform helps students retain information more effectively. Teachers can set tasks, but students also have access to study content independently, which will be incredibly beneficial for revision purposes.
We invest in a Premium subscription for all students at Hampton High, so students can access all the learning content free of cost.
We believe that using online platforms for homework has several benefits:
-
Enhanced Tracking and Feedback: Seneca and Dr Frost allow teachers to monitor student progress in real time, enabling us to provide targeted support where it is most needed. On Seneca, parents can also gain insights into their child’s progress.
-
Accessibility and Flexibility: Students can access their homework anytime and anywhere. The platforms are compatible with all devices, including computers, tablets, and smartphones.
-
Personalised Learning: Seneca’s features allow teachers to adapt tasks set to each student’s individual needs, offering them a more tailored learning experience.
We ask that families support the school in ensuring their child sees the value in homework and encourages their child to complete tasks set.
