Celebrating Entrepreneurship and Student Innovation
Posted on: 25/02/2026Yesterday, our Year 9 Young Enterprise teams, Elegance and JDC Decorates, took part in a fantastic trading opportunity at Old Spitalfields Market — and what a day it was.
Set within one of London’s most vibrant market spaces, our students experienced first-hand what it means to step into the world of entrepreneurship. Selling their handmade jewellery, scrunchies and other products alongside established traders and fellow Young Enterprise teams, they approached the day with confidence, initiative and real determination.
They warmly welcomed customers and visiting judges, spoke passionately about their ideas, marketed their products and handled transactions independently. Many stepped beyond their stalls to engage passing foot traffic — sparking conversations, building connections and turning creativity into sales. It was innovation in action and a powerful example of aspiration meeting opportunity.
Experiences like this do more than develop business knowledge. They ignite sparks — of belief, courage and entrepreneurial ambition. They strengthen our sense of belonging within the wider community and show our students that their ideas matter.
A heartfelt thank you to Ms Death, whose passion and dedication continue to create these invaluable opportunities. She is truly planting the seeds of entrepreneurial aspiration within our students and nurturing the confidence to turn ideas into reality.
It was a hugely positive and enjoyable day, and both teams represented our community with pride.
