Every Child Has A Voice That Matters – Don’t Hide It

Posted on: 23/04/2026

Junior in Year 7 proved that when he stepped forward to stand for the Richmond and Kingston Student Council.

Yesterday, we heard the fantastic news that he has been elected.

Among thousands of young people, he chose to speak up – to share his ideas, represent others, and believe his voice could make a difference.

When he found out, Junior shared:

“The minute I found out, I was over the moon… it feels like a dream come true. Don’t keep quiet, be loud – and if you want something to change, you can talk to me.”

There’s something powerful in that.

Not just the achievement, but the courage it takes to speak.

Junior will now represent young people across Richmond and Kingston – listening, learning, and speaking on their behalf.

But his message stays with us.

Because this isn’t just about one student.

It’s about what happens when a young person realises their voice matters.

And chooses to use it.
