Last week, a group of our Year 10 students visited Pinewood Studios, the UK’s largest film and television studio, home to iconic franchises like James Bond, Harry Potter, and The Dark Knight. The day offered a window into the creativity, skill, and teamwork that bring the industry to life.

Students were inspired by a live interview with BAFTA winner Mia McKenna-Bruce, hearing first hand how persistence and seizing opportunities shaped her journey.

They were captivated by the stunt demonstrations - from performers abseiling into a pit, to motorbike stunts, and even a stunt car built from scratch - witnessing the precision, ingenuity, and teamwork behind the action.

Speaking with experts, including the CEO of a motion capture company, students reflected on the skills they would need to pursue careers that truly inspire them. Olly in Year 10 reflected:
"Seeing all these roles and hearing their stories made me think about what I could achieve if I follow what inspires me."

Trips like this spark curiosity, ambition, and imagination, helping students connect what they learn today with the paths they might take tomorrow.
