What happens when we make space for honest conversations?

Posted on: 30/01/2026

This week, we welcomed Shao Hao, a Chinese-British singer-songwriter, who led an open and powerful session on mental health, identity, and equality. Through his own experiences, he invited students to reflect on stress, discrimination, and the importance of speaking up — while reminding us why fairness and understanding matter.

Behind the scenes, it was quietly inspiring to watch students come together to film and edit the session. A big shout-out to Anoushka, Aloma, Eve and Ciaran in Year 9 for stepping up, leading with creativity, teamwork, and care — and helping bring this experience to life. Seeing them take ownership and collaborate was a reminder of what can happen when young people feel trusted and included.

As Anoushka shared:
“The performer was really engaging, and being part of the filming and editing was a great experience. I enjoyed trying out different shots, working with other students and helping create something we could all be proud of.”

Moments like these stay with you — and make you wonder what else is possible when we listen, include, and create together.
