When Student Voice Shapes Learning

Posted on: 23/01/2026

What changes when students are invited into conversations about teaching and learning?

This week, 10 students joined staff training to share their perspectives on formative assessment, offering clear and thoughtful insight into what helps learning feel meaningful and secure.

Duc in Year 8 shared how powerful it felt to be included:
“It felt really special to talk to teachers about assessments and know our views could help shape how learning works for us.”

Their feedback directly informed staff reflection and action planning, with departments already making adjustments to lessons and resources.

Alina also in Year 8 reflected on the impact of being heard:
“The teachers really listened — and they’re already making changes. I’m very grateful for the experience.”

We’re incredibly thankful to our students for giving their time and reminding us how powerful student voice can be — not just in leadership roles, but in shaping learning every day.
