Brooklands Innovation Academy Trip: Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators

Posted on: 14/11/2025
For the second time this term, our learners had the opportunity to visit Brooklands
Museum — this time as part of the Brooklands Innovation Academy. Ten students were
selected for a fully funded day exploring the world of science, technology, engineering,
and innovation.

Organised in partnership with Kingston University and The Worshipful Company of
Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers, the event aims to raise aspirations in STEM
and help young people picture themselves in future engineering and innovation careers.

Throughout the day, pupils took part in hands-on workshops led by experts from
Brooklands Museum and Kingston University. They also enjoyed a guided tour of the
museum, discovering the history of creativity and invention that continues to shape
modern engineering.

Students returned full of ideas and enthusiasm, many sharing how the experience
opened their eyes to new possibilities and helped them think differently about their
futures.

A huge thank-you to Ms Southgate for supporting and inspiring our pupils throughout
the visit — helping make this memorable day of discovery possible.
