Igniting Innovation at Brooklands Museum

Posted on: 10/10/2025

Our students joined 480 young people for the 4th annual Brooklands Innovation Academy LIVE - a hands-on journey into the worlds of aviation, space technology, and engineering innovation.
Located in Surrey and known as the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation, Brooklands is home to the legendary Concorde - the perfect setting to explore how science, technology, and creativity come together.
Students dived into interactive workshops, tackling challenges that tested their curiosity, problem-solving, and teamwork.
The day included stepping inside the iconic Concorde, becoming engineers by designing satellites with a simulated $13.5 million budget, and taking part in an exciting aircraft maintenance challenge - where Daphne set the fastest time changing an aircraft tire. Students also designed and launched model rockets, putting physics and teamwork to the test, and explored future career pathways in aviation and aerospace, including what it takes to become a pilot.
This unforgettable experience showed how hands-on learning turns big ideas into real-world possibilities, sparking imagination and inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. As Olvie summed it up: “It was both fascinating and educational - and incredibly fun too!”
