Bringing Learning to Life – Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre

Posted on: 07/11/2025
Our cast and production team had a truly special day this week, travelling to the
Cambridge Theatre in London to see Matilda the Musical — the very show they are
currently working on for our upcoming school performance.

The visit gave our students the chance to see first-hand how professional performers
bring a story to life on stage — from the choreography and timing to the energy and
teamwork behind every scene. By the final number, the whole group seemed a little
more inspired, a little more certain about the magic that happens when creativity and
collaboration meet.

Syed shared,“I enjoyed watching Matilda so much because it was such a great
opportunity and a surreal experience. It really showed me the amazing side of theatre
and acting — the effort that went in was incredible. It was a life-changing experience
and a special moment to hold on to.”

Caitlin reflected,“I enjoyed going to see Matilda because I got to go with my friends and
others who love drama. It was a great opportunity to see a show in a West End theatre.
I thought it was really cool how they staged it — it gave me inspiration for when we
perform it and made me really look forward to our own production.”

At Hampton High, we’re proud to offer experiences like these — moments that help
bring learning to life and remind our students what’s possible when creativity, curiosity,
and courage come together.
