We have been informed some parents have received an email stating: ‘As schools will be closing, if you're entitled to free school meals, please send your bank details and we'll make sure you're supported’. This is a scam email - do not respond, and delete immediately. https://t.co/r6cJP28dyY

We celebrated Naitonal Demo Day within the science department yesterday lunchtime by burning Methane Bubbles! Students got to watch Mr Haigh demonstrate how water is a poor conductor of heat and insulates his hands from the flames! Don't try this at home! https://t.co/b6bNdlVVge

Important - children of key workers

Dear Families,

Further to the release of the key worker list yesterday, I just want to remind you that the guidance is that any child falling into this category should only come into school from next week if there is absolutely no other alternative. We are operating a skeleton staff, as so many colleagues are self-isolating and it is important that the staff in school remain healthy to look after the students who absolutely have to be in.

For this reason, we are prioritising the KS3 children of key workers. Our resources are scarce and this is the group of students who probably cannot be left home alone whilst their parents are at work on the front line.

If you have been contacted separately and an arrangement has been made before yesterday for your child to come in then we are expecting to see them at 8.30 on Monday morning, regardless of key stage.

If your child is in receipt of free school meals, please remember that a “meal deal” type of sandwich pack will be available at school Reception between 12.00 and 12.30pm from Monday. Please ensure that you observe these timings, as we will have to divert precious resources from elsewhere in the school to run this. All students will need to sign their meal out, so that we can accurately cater for students for the remainder of the week as we wait for the government vouchers to arrive.

Thank you again for your continued support of our school community in these uncertain times.
