In Year 9 we have been doing a project on Anthropomorphism, resulting in some fantastic anthropomorphic portraits or self portraits. Year 9 experimented with recreating natural forms and textures such as fur, shells and feathers and then studied and explored human and animal eyes. We then went on to produce collages, montages and painted photos, combining human and animal features. Artists studied included Charlotte Caron, Picasso and Cynthia Consentino and we also researched characters from Greek Mythology.
Final pieces were produced with Chinese ink and were then embellished with a range of materials to transform and anthropomorphise the portraits. Some very creative, skilled and successful work. Well done year 9!
