EBACC Advice
EBACC: The English Baccalaureate
Whilst we will not direct students to study subjects they do not wish too, we advise you to consider the future benefits of choosing courses that are known as the English Baccalaureate (EBACC). Despite it not being a qualification itself is a recommended path of study by the UK’s most prestigious universities.
We recommend considering the EBACC, however we also hold great value in the Arts subjects that may not appear in this advice. We advise students to select a variety of subjects based on, not only their future career, but what they enjoy and are passionate about. Our Key Stage 3 curriculum is designed to offer students the opportunity to study a broad and balance range of subjects and we also recommend this to be transferred to GCSE.
To accommodate both, it is suggested that students select triple science, a language and a humanity to achieve the EBACC requirements and then to include a fourth Arts subject.
