Homework

Homework is set to ensure students practice and consolidate what they have learned in school or are prepared for what they will be learning next. It contains an element of independent study as it is not directly supervised by a teacher.

Homework can be completed within school, when tasks require books, software or equipment not found readily at home. Homework enhances pupil learning, improves achievement and develops pupils’ study skills for their future paths and as such is an integral part of the curriculum.

Please be aware that all homework is set via an online platform called Satchel:one. An overview of homework including types of tasks, assessment and a setting schedule is shown below:

  • Setting schedule

In KS3 students are set weekly homework in English, Maths and Science. In all other subjects homework is set on a fortnightly basis. GCSE students should expect one piece of homework every week from every subject.
