Year 10 Lead Students

Message from Mrs Julien - Year 10 Lead Students: After an extremely rigorous process, we are very pleased to announce our new Head Student Team:

Head Student - Sivethan G
Head Student - Zara A

Deputy Head Student - Kiera S
Deputy Head Student - Fred K

Lead Prefect - Dina D
Lead Prefect - Victoria L

Over the last few weeks, we have been in the process of handing over the school's student leadership roles from Year 11 to our Year 10 cohort. As part of the handover process, Year 11 senior student leaders presented an assembly about their roles and responsibilities in school and promoted the importance of representing the school for younger years.

Before being appointed, our Year 10 students had to complete an online application which was read, anonymously, by the student council and teachers alike. Six students were selected to take part in the interview process to be appointed as Head Students. The interview involved students writing a speech, having an interview with the student council and an interview with teachers. We are extremely proud of the resilience our students have shown throughout the process and they have benefited from real-life interview feedback to help prepare them for life beyond school.

Congratulations to our senior student leads who have been appointed in key roles. Here is a brief paragraph from each of them to introduce themselves:

Message from Head Student - Sivethan G: Greetings to all of Hampton High and its spectacular parent community! My name is Sivethan and I am proud to say I have been appointed as Head Student for the school. I am elated to possess such an outstanding role at this school.

I am confident, motivated, and hardworking person, who loves our school community, as everyone is so friendly. As Head Student, my aim is to try and make the school community an environment where teachers and students have an even stronger relationship, and I am committed to raising greater awareness about world issues, as we need to change the world we live in for the better. Finally, I would like to thank the school, the teachers and all the students for giving me this opportunity. I’m willing to sacrifice my time for the greater good of the school and I’m very grateful to be chosen to be the Head Student of Hampton High. I won’t let the school down.

Message from Deputy Head Student - Kiera S: Hi, I’m Kiera and I am Hampton High’s deputy head student. I am interested in the well-being of all the students and making sure that all the different year group’s ideas for bettering the school are heard and used, which is why i applied for the role. Firstly, I would like our school to become more environmentally friendly and more charitable. Becoming more sustainable is extremely important to me and i would like to put an efficient recycling bin system in place immediately and see what other changes could be made that are easy for everyone to use. I believe that giving back is imperative so I would like to organise charity events that I know the students would have fun with at the same time as benefiting others. I am proud to be deputy head girl because it means that i can try my best to improve the school so both the teachers and the students can enjoy working together in a positive environment.

Message from Head Prefect - Dina D: Hi, my name is Dina, and I am Hampton High's new Head Prefect. I am very passionate about our school and making it the best it can be, including making sure that all our year groups have the best opportunities and education. I would like to introduce more workshops or other activities about what’s important in society, for example BLM, LGBTQ+ and lots more issues prominent in society today. It is important to me that all our students feel safe and comfortable in themselves and by introducing this I feel we can achieve that. Therefore, I am very proud to be Hampton High's Head Prefect, as it will allow me to help improve our school in lots of different ways.

Message from Lead Prefect - Victoria L: Hello everyone, I'm Victoria and it's my honour to be appointed as the Lead Prefect. To me, Hampton High is a cordial family and I want to make sure that no one is left out. I'll work with my team to perambulate every corner of our campus and scrutinise if there's anyone that needs help. Besides, I want to augment the academic performance of Hampton High, so that everyone has a brighter future; for example, I will arrange some experience sharing sessions so graduated students can talk through their GCSE experience and share any useful materials.

Message from Head Student - Zara A: Hello everyone! My name is Zara and I’m Hampton Highs new Head Student! I am so excited to be working in this position alongside the Year 10 leadership team and the student council, and I hope to bring positive changes to school. I believe in being a positive role model and setting a good example for other students. I believe in the power of words and ensuring we all use positive, affirming language to prevent bullying across the school as we should all be treated as equals. Overall, I am really looking forward to getting started!

Message from Deputy Head Student - Fred K: Hello, my name is Fred, and I am the new Deputy Head Student at Hampton High. I am proud to be on the Student body as it’s a key role to have within the school.

In my role, l want to bring a positive change to school's environment, for example improving the use of the pond area behind the football pitch so it links to our learning. Currently, it is a habitat for lots of wildlife, but I think it could be revamped  by making use of the whole area.   Outside of school, I am also very active and like to participate in clubs, such as Skating. I believe wider enrichment helps to develop a person and I would like us to provide more opportunities for clubs in the future.
