Year 13 have been busy sending off their applications to Universities this week. They are also working hard preparing for their mock exams in January and revising for the final summer exams.
Some examples are:
Jess Gregory is applying for events management at Greenwich and St Marys.
Alicia McKie is applying for advertising and Marketing at Lancaster and Westminster.
Megan Nichols is appling for Musical theatre at Surrey University and Chichester.
Dan Rowe is applying for Sports Rehab and therapy at St Marys and Bristol.
To prepare sixth form students for University and life they have been learning cookery skills. The students also discussed budgeting skills when buying food products and what foods can be refrigerated for another day.
The students had mystery ingredients unveiled to them in the kitchen - they had 2 minutes to plan as a group what meal they were going to cook using the ingredients given, the roles and responsibilities of each person in the group and how to present their meal. The students then had 30 minutes to cook the meal and serve it for tasting. Billy Faithfull learnt how to hold a knife and peel a carrot for the first time. Krish Makwana learnt it takes a long time to boil potatoes... in cold water... and Jess Gregorry learnt how to wash up for the first time in 18 years. Next week they will be cooking fajitas!
