“I joined Hampton High in September of 2017, and I feel very privileged to be part of the school community. Since joining the school the staff have made me feel incredibly welcome.
The students have embraced the changes over the last few years with an excellent level of maturity. So many of our students feel comfortable asking for support from staff, which is fantastic. Those who are somewhat more reserved are picked up by our excellent SEND team; they are able to identify and engage students that wouldn’t otherwise ask for help.
The skills the SEND team have is second only to their passion to support our students. The personal support they offer our students and the confidence they give them is why I am so proud to be part of the Hampton High team.
One of our Year 11 students recently wrote a letter to prospective students touring our Open Evening to explain how the SEND team has helped them throughout their time here. “Hampton High has helped me since I first began at this school 5 years ago back in 2014. They helped me settle in from the minute I stepped through the door by helping me overcome the stresses of a new experience and learn new skills. They helped me organise my timetable, complete homework on time, and sort out social issues, helping me cope with my exam anxiety and are always willing to listen to me whenever I felt down. Mr Fleetham, Ms Dyett and others have helped me overcome my fears and allowed me to reach my ambitions. I will be completing my GCSEs soon and I am sure that I would be nowhere near as ready for them as I am now if it wasn’t for their help.”
At Hampton High we are committed to a proactive support network to ensure that all of our students can be successful during their time at Hampton High. This includes in class support as well as interventions outside of the classroom. Detailed information regarding supporting students with SEND can be found on our website.
