Year 11 Football Success!

On Wednesday 14th March our Year 11 Football Team took on Orleans Park in the Richmond  School Cup Final. Earlier victories had ensure each teams place in the final which was hosted on our 3G surface. During the league season Orleans Park had won 4-1 so there was a lot of enthusiasm from the group to ensure that the game started well.
Early in the game both teams were evenly matched and both sides attempted to gain a hold of the game in possession. Some strong attacks from OP brought the best out of Aidan who kept the scores level. Mid way through the first half William Plumridge open the scoring with a 40 yard free kick which the OP goal keeper was unable to palm away. This goal settled the year 11's and enabled them to begin to take hold of the game. Some excellent possession play between Ben, William and Jamie down the left continued to open up the defence and further breaks from Brandon and Yusuf ensure the Year 11's were dangerous in attack. Further goals from Ben Harding, Kieran Farrell, Adam Oliver and a Hat Trick from Sid Thompson completed a 7-0 victory in the Year 11's final match. We hope to see many of the group continuing their football development in the 6th form next year and I personally thank the boys for their contributions throughout the year and their involvement in such large numbers.
