Black and British by David Olusoga is a brilliant book that everyone would benefit from reading. It is particularly good for a younger audience. Olusoga describes it as "the book I wish I had been given to read when I was at school". https://t.co/IlxIYBFIXR

Trust News

Keeping safe and well continues to be the top priority for our schools and we have been and will be focussing on this carefully and clearly during this difficult time. You will be aware that last year I wrote to you informing you that our school needed to move to a larger Trust. Currently Hampton High is part of RWST which, as you know, is a small two school Trust. Government policy and clear guidance given to RWST states that Trusts should be larger rather than smaller as this is when the benefits of being in a Trust such as collaboration, staff development, back office capacity and financial benefits due to economies of scale and buying power can be realised.  Since last Spring a process has been undertaken to choose a Trust for RWST schools to join.  Headteachers, Governors and Trustees have worked hard to choose the correct Trust and the next move for the school will benefit the students and staff.  I am pleased to say that Bourne Education Trust (BET) was chosen as the Trust RWST schools wished to move to and we are currently working with BET on plans for RWST schools to join The Bourne Education Trust.   Bourne Education Trust was set up on the 9th September 2013 and is a charitable trust and an exempt charity, it aims to create a community of outstanding schools with the highest aspiration and dedication to achieve the best outcomes for all learners, more information can be found at https://www.bourne.education/383/about-bet.  One of the reasons BET was chosen is that they believe in autonomy for its schools. I do not anticipate changes to the uniform, staffing or curriculum and I plan to remain as Headteacher of this school. As Headteacher I am confident that this is absolutely the correct next step for the school. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email the school on info@hamptonhigh.org.uk with “BET” in the subject line.
