GCSE Options
Overview
At Hampton High we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum at Key Stage 3 so that when students choose their options for GCSE in Year 9 they feel prepare and can follow the academic path that suits their needs and aspirations.
The rigorous options process, led by the Head of Year, ensures the best options are selected for each individual student. We take into account a multitude of considerations, with the students at the centre of the decisions. In recent years, this has meant we have been able to recruit new and experienced teachers to deliver GCSE subjects that enhance the KS4 curriculum options.
The family’s role in the process is vital, and therefore have included advice for you to read so that you can support your child’s decisions and help make informed choices.
In this section you will find guidance on:
- GCSE subjects at Hampton High with links to videos and further information about the courses
- EBACC advice set out by the Department of Education
- Options Timeline: how you make your choices
- Advice: what to consider about your future, current progress and what you enjoy when choosing your GCSE options. Where to find advice and how to book a careers meeting
The options process can be daunting for our young people however with the support in school, at home and through external agencies we can help them make the right choices for the next chapter in their education.
